This kit was developed to put an end to swarf (chip) ingress problems on the leadscrew and tailstock of Myford's Super 7 lathe. If you take the total time you've spent brushing swarf out of your leadscrew and apron; add this to the regular ritual of sliding the tailstock off the bed to remove swarf from under it and then factor in keeping the tailstock barrel clean..then you'll soon appreciate the value of these simple improvements.
