One of the most popular uses for a Rotary Table in the small workshop is to quickly and efficiently round the ends of coupling rods and similar components. Worm gearing is not required, being too slow in operation. Positive stops are, however, vital to prevent the cutter exceeding its intended limits. Consequently, GHT's design offers a small compact Rotary Table of Ø3 3/4", having substantial bearing support. Positive stops are provided to limit angular movement. The dimensions of the cast iron base enable easy mounting onto the lathe vertical-slide or cross slide. See HK 1185 below for mounting this item on a milling machine This kit includes the base casting, close grained extruded iron for the table and all neccesary steel and fasteners. Hemingway drawings and notes are included of course. Related products:

We are able to offer a Rotary Table of the same basic dimensions as the Thomas design but with the inclusion of a worm gear. One graduation of the worm's resetable dial advances the table by just 0.1° providing considerable accuracy and a powerfull feed when when advancing the table against cutting loads. The iron base measures 4" x 4", a good match for any popular vertical slide. The worm assembly is retained in the base by a single pad bolt, thus the Ø4" iron table can be readily taken out of gear when hand operation is desired. Designed with easy construction in mind, the Geared Rotary Table is equally at home on a lathe or a milling machine. The photograph shows the geared Rotary Table with the worm box removed and a 'Tommy Bar' fitted for hand operation. Our kit includes all necessary iron and steel, the 60:1 worm and wheel pair, fasteners, drawings and construction notes. Material and details are also provided to produce a chuck adapter to allow the table to accept 3 and 4 jaw chucks. Related products:

An aluminium Adaptor casting (7"x 4 3/8") is now available to allow either of our Ø4" tables (HK 1180 and HK 1190 above) to be bolted to the milling machine table. Essentially this raises the Rotary Table by around 1" and provides flanges which can then be drilled to suit your T Slot centres. The "kit" is in fact a single casting that arrives without drawings or notes. It would be quite suitable for mounting a variety of commercial RT's with holes centres that do not match your miller.
