This Grinding Spindle employ disc spring loaded races to take up all bearing clearance whilst providing for thermal expansion as the spindle warms up. Maximum speed for the grinding spindle is 20,000 rpm in grease or 25,000 rpm in oil which provides for the smallest of bore grinding points. The designer's application was for a Ø4" wheel running at 4,800 rpm and the pulleys and arbors are based on this.
The kit includes all necessary steel for the spindle together with "magneto style" angular contact bearings, disc springs, lipped oil seals, drawings and instructions. The pulleys are designed to accept Ø5mm Bond-a-Band belting which can be ordered by the foot from our Standard Products section.
